Eine Studie ist zu einem ermutigenden Schluss f\u00fcr alle gekommen, die auf ein langes Leben hoffen.<\/strong><\/p>

Laut einer neuen Studie wird der aktuelle Rekord f\u00fcr die l\u00e4ngste Lebenserwartung in den kommenden Jahrzehnten wahrscheinlich gebrochen werden. Dies liegt daran, dass die maximale menschliche Lebenserwartung, sofern sie \u00fcberhaupt existiert, noch nicht erreicht ist.<\/p>

In den meisten L\u00e4ndern steigt die durchschnittliche Lebenserwartung dank besserer Gesundheitsversorgung, Hygiene und Ern\u00e4hrung seit Jahrzehnten. Die maximale menschliche Lebensdauer hat sich jedoch seit 1997 nicht ver\u00e4ndert, als die Franz\u00f6sin Jeanne Calment (geboren 1875) im Alter von 122 Jahren starb.<\/p>

Dies hat zu Spekulationen dar\u00fcber gef\u00fchrt, ob es eine Obergrenze f\u00fcr die menschliche Lebensspanne gibt. Die durchschnittliche Lebenserwartung mag sich dieser Obergrenze weiter ann\u00e4hern, aber egal wie gro\u00dfe Fortschritte wir als Gesellschaft machen, Menschen werden dieses Alter einfach nicht \u00fcberschreiten.<\/p>

Biologie gegen Statistik<\/h3>

Bisher hat sich ein Gro\u00dfteil der Forschung zur maximalen menschlichen Lebensspanne auf die Biologie konzentriert. Eine im M\u00e4rz 2023 in der Fachzeitschrift PLOS One ver\u00f6ffentlichte Studie n\u00e4herte sich dem Thema aus statistischer Sicht und kam zu einem ermutigenden Schluss f\u00fcr jeden, der auf ein langes Leben hofft.<\/p>

\u201cUnsere Ergebnisse best\u00e4tigen fr\u00fchere Arbeiten, die nahelegen, dass wir uns \u2013 falls es eine Obergrenze f\u00fcr die menschliche Lebensspanne gibt \u2013 dieser noch nicht n\u00e4hern\u201d, schreiben die Autoren David McCarthy von der University of Georgia bzw. Po-Lin Wang von der University of South Florida.<\/p>

F\u00fcr ihre Studie analysierten die Autoren Sterblichkeitsdaten aus den USA und 18 anderen Industrienationen f\u00fcr Menschen, die im selben Jahr geboren wurden. Sie fanden heraus, dass das durchschnittliche Sterbealter im Laufe der Geschichte zwar stetig gestiegen ist, es aber auch Zeiten gibt, in denen das H\u00f6chstalter stark ansteigt \u2013 ein Ph\u00e4nomen, das als \u201cSterblichkeitsverschiebung\u201d bekannt ist.\u201d<\/p>

Dies wurde zum Beispiel bei Frauen beobachtet, die zwischen 1855 und 1875 geboren wurden, und es gibt Anzeichen daf\u00fcr, dass dies auch bei Gruppen geschieht, die zwischen 1900 und 1950 geboren wurden. Bisher hat noch keiner dieser Menschen den Rekord f\u00fcr die maximale menschliche Lebenserwartung gebrochen, weil die meisten von ihnen noch zu jung sind.<\/p>

Der Analyse der Forscher zufolge scheint insbesondere eine Gruppe bei diesem Ph\u00e4nomen eine Vorreiterrolle einzunehmen. Das Modell legt nahe, dass die \u00e4lteste japanische Frau, geboren im Jahr 1940, eine Wahrscheinlichkeit von 50 Prozent hat, \u00fcber 130 Jahre alt zu werden.<\/p>

Langlebigkeit braucht Unterst\u00fctzung<\/h3>

Dies h\u00e4ngt auch davon ab, ob das Modell eine genaue Beschreibung davon ist, wie sich die Moral im Alter ver\u00e4ndern wird, und ob es ein stabiles wirtschaftliches, politisches und \u00f6kologisches Umfeld gibt, das extreme Langlebigkeit weiterhin unterst\u00fctzt.<\/p>

Die Vorstellung, dass es keine maximale Lebenserwartung des Menschen gibt, ist spannend \u2013 einerseits bedeutet dies, dass Unsterblichkeit theoretisch nicht ausgeschlossen ist \u2013, andererseits bedeutet es aber auch, dass eine Situation, mit der wir bereits jetzt zu k\u00e4mpfen haben, n\u00e4mlich die Alterung der Weltbev\u00f6lkerung, in Zukunft noch gr\u00f6\u00dfere Auswirkungen haben k\u00f6nnte.<\/p>

Umso wichtiger ist es daher, schon jetzt dar\u00fcber nachzudenken, wie diese wachsende Gruppe von Senioren in ihren letzten Lebensjahren versorgt werden kann. Ein Teil der L\u00f6sung k\u00f6nnte in tragbarer Technologie, hochentwickelten Haushaltsrobotern und der autonomen Lieferung von Lebensmitteln liegen.<\/p>
